Each UnitySync connection has a config.txt file. This file will contain any passwords used for the connection (i..e Source and Destination tab login passwords). The method of encryption for these passwords in the config.txt is aes256.

Likewise, passwords entered in the Directify UI are encrypted using aes256.

For emPass, our password synchronization tool, all data is encrypted with RSA 4096bit public/private key pairs. Additionally, all data transported to central server is encrypted with a proprietary AES256 key (in addition to utilizing HTTPS).

Note: There is also a password in the emPass config.txt file. If there is need to change this password, enter the new value, save/close the file, and run the following to immediately encrypt the password:

D:\emPassCentSrv\bin\empass-activedir.exe “activedir-domainX”

If you reopen config.txt, you will see the password is now encrypted.
