When using Directory Assistance to sync to a Notes Secondary Address Book (SAB), you must enable LDAP rights in the primary Notes addressbook and across all addressbooks; this is step 4 in the Writing to a Secondary Notes Addressbook white paper.

Alternatively, you may create another notes.id and assign it the proper manager rights on the SAB, but only read rights on the primary and any other secondary you don’t want it to access. This solution was shared with us by a client who successfully implemented it.

  1. Create another notes.id
  2. Assign it the proper manager rights on the SAB created for UnitySync
  3. Assign only read rights on the primary address book
  4. Assign only read rights on any other secondary address book I didn’t want it to access but I did want it to read for the reverse synch.
