This typically occurs after an upgrading from Exchange 2007. The synced contacts were created when Exchange 2007 was in use. Exchange is then upgraded to a newer version. If you attempt to view/change the Exchange contact, you get a prompt indicating you must ‘update the contact version’.
We have found that setting msExchVersion to a specific value on the affected contacts fixes the problem. So, if you add this setting to a custom map file, this should resolve the problem.
NOTE: You should manually test this by editing the attribute manually in AD U&C. Further, we recommend you set up a test connection to verify your results against a few test objects
If you do not have a custom object map file, create one per this KB
Add this mapping:
Run your test connection Discovery and Sim. You can expect to see most/all objects modified on Sim.
Check the contact to confirm the problem is resolved.
