UnitySync's Source/Dest tabs have a TEST button that allows you to test authentication to the target directory. If the user name / password are correct, you get a successful authentication message. If the user name / password are incorrect, you will get a 'Can Not Authenticate' message.
Most often, a 'Can Not Authenticate' error is simply caused by a bad user name / password combination.
However, there is another known cause for an Authentication error against AD:
In the AD User account Properties, there may be specific servers identified in the "Log On To" parameter of the 'Account' tab. If your target DC is not listed, attempts to authenticate to that host will result in an error. In this case you should add the hostname of the target DC to the "Log On To" list, or change the setting to allow the User to logon to "All Computers".
