SimpleSync is the culmination of many years working with Email directory environments. A SimpleSync connection syncs contact and Email information between directories. The result is that users in one system will be able to see foreign Email addresses as contacts in their own server address book. It is important to note that SimpleSync is not a directory - it connects two directories and copies data between them. The only data stored by SimpleSync is connection configuration information, contact data, log files, an intermediate LDIF file and SQL database files to track changes during each sync run.
Each individual connection syncs in one direction. To do a full synchronization between two directories, two connections will be created. One connection will sync DirectoryA to DirectoryB, a second connection will sync from DirectoryB to DirectoryA.
Configuration of each connection requires the input of directory information including IP, user id and password for both the Source and Destination directories. You will also specify which source objects to pull (default is all) and where to create the new contacts on the destination.
The default configuration will create mail forwarding contacts in your destination directory using options and attribute mappings included in the default map template. You may further customize your SimpleSync connection to take advantage of features that allow you to manipulate or organize your synced data to meet your unique requirements. These optional features are easily configurable within each connection. Popular features most commonly implemented include Displayname formatting, Container Level creation, Join with Existing Objects, Swap Proxy, and custom attribute mapping.
You can download a fully functional copy of SimpleSync from our Products page. You will receive a temporary key.dat license file. You may contact technical support with any questions you have as you evaluate and test Simplesync in your own environment. Please feel free to contact us with all questions and comments you might have.
