There are a few known causes of this error. Review below to determine if any of these is the cause of your error.
Common causes of this error are:
- The connection is configred for an Exchange 5.5 connection, but the Destination IP specified is NOT an Exchange 5.5 server.
- If the destination is an Exchange 5.5 server, and it is on an AD domain controller, then AD ’owns’ port 389. You must reconfigure your Exchange 5.5 LDAP to use another port. Then, specify this new port in your connection configuration.
- If the destination is an Exchange 5.5 server, this error may be caused by a permissions problem on the destination Ex55 SimpleSync login account. Make sure your SimpleSync logon account exists in the destination org and has adequate permissions. If you have ’Special Permissions’ applied to your destination directory to restrict write access to the sync container, you must make sure to also give the SimpleSync account View-Only-Admin rights to the destination site.
