Directify will support AWS Directory Service (and Samba!)

With our revelation of an LDAP directory in the cloud (running Samba!) we decided to try out Directify against it.

We learned that AWS Directory service does not support RFC 4532 which is an extension to LDAP which returns the object of the user logged in. This is a handy feature that saves a lot of extra LDAP searches to find the user object. We hope Amazon (and Samba?) implement this in the future.

With one code change in the login prompt, we found that everything in Directify worked perfectly. This new code has been merged into the production code. If you would like to try out this new functionality ahead of time, please contact our support department.
