If your passwords are not updating as expected, your public and private keys may not match. Your syslog will indicate if there is an issue with passwords updating via a message similar to:

Message: 2017-03-29T14:30:18.00-05:00 YourServerName empass-activedir 2256 - RSA Decrypt Failure: error:040A1079:lib(4):func(161):reason(121)
