Discovery error: Paged Search Failure 0 - Success

This error is sometimes seen when reading AD or Ex5.5. The sync’s Discovery encounters an error while decoding the SSL LDAP response received from the server.This results in truncated data in the Discovery phase.

This issue has been traced to a known bug in SSL. Some DCs may return trucated data (i.e. 999 records) while another DC in the same forest returns the error (Page Search Failure).

There is an option to override the default paged-search size. This is designed to reduce the number of records returned at a time. This may successfully work around the SSL issue by keeping the page size smaller.

The lates SimpleSync v5 revision includes updated SSL libraries which should avoid this error and not require the custom page size workaround. Upgrade to the latest revision is recommended.

To apply the paging-support workaround:

Create a custom sourcedef and add the following parameter:

paging-support=100

Click Save. Click Apply.

Try the Discovery again.
