Setting MapiRecipient on your synced AD/Ex200x contacts

The Properites of an AD/Ex200x contact include a check box for 'Use MAPI Rich Text Format' (on the Exchange Advanced tab).

 

Default mapping:    mapirecipient=~mapi~

 

On an Ex200x to Ex200x sync, the ~mapi~ usage should set the destination attribute to match the source attribute value.

 

On an Ex5.5 to Ex200x sync, if the source is a mailbox the destination attribute should be set to 'TRUE' otherwise it's set to 'FALSE'.

 

Alternatively, you may use a custom mapping to set this value to 'TRUE' (checked) or 'FALSE' (unchecked) for all synced contacts: (Note, the TRUE/FALSE mapped value must appear in all caps.)

 

Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010 

mapirecipient=TRUE   (checked)

or

mapirecipient=FALSE  (unchecked)
 

In Ex2007/Ex2010, there is a third option 'User Default Setting'  .  This essentially sets the mapirecipient value to <not set>
